Alexanders Coffee - Strange Hasbrowns but Otherwise an OK Enough Place I Guess

(Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia)

Hashbrowns

Hashbrowns

Alexanders Coffee serves these little cut pieces of french fries and calls them "hash browns". So I thought I'd let them know what real hash browns look like.

Alexander's Coffee
by: Geddy

I used to love Alexander's...emphasize USED to. IMO, they have seriously gone downhill in the past year or so. Did they have a change of management? Food is OK, but the service is seriously in need of an energy shot. Waiters take forever to wait on you, even when they're not busy. They stand around like they have nothing to do. Even to get your bill takes forever!

Expectations
by: Jeff

From my personal experience comparing foods when traveling I have found it better not to expect it to be the same as my home country. I have been dissappointed at times and other times found the food to be suprisingly delicious. Enjoy.

Are you kidding me?
by: Valerie

Talk about complaining, you live in the city widely known as having Bolivia's best food and hugest portions and you're saying there's nowhere like Alexanders? Someone needs to get out of the house.

To the hashbrowns person: it really is disappointing when you live overseas and you miss something you love and then you think you've found a place that has it but it turns out to be absolutely nothing like the name suggests. I think a lot of us can relate to that. Luckily, hashbrowns are easy to make and you can actually find the ingredients in Bolivia, unlike some other foods we miss.

This is not to say that you shouldn't attempt to integrate when you live in another country. Just that sometimes it's nice to find something from yours that you miss. I don't see the need to attack Mr. or Ms. Hashbrowns about this.

Strange Hasbrowns

Responding to your post..."Alexanders Coffee - Strange Hasbrowns but Otherwise an OK Enough Place I Guess", If you know of any better hashbrowns in Bolivia, please post where. Also consider yourself lucky to even have an Alexanders. Cochabamba has nothing like it. You have everything in Santa Cruz but you complain about hashbrowns...grow up!
