MARYKNOLL BOLIVIA The Maryknoll Bolivia Mission Immersion Program offers a chance for North Americans to join the Maryknoll movement of Catholic Sisters, Fathers, Brothers, and Lay Missioners in Bolivia, either as part of a group exposure trip, or by volunteering for 6 weeks to 1 year in Cochabamba. Examples include work with schoolchildren, orphans, elderly, special education and HIV/AIDS, prisons, and parish groups.

GREEN HEARTS PROJECT, based out of Tarija, Bolivia, is working with local indigenous populations and private land owners to set aside forest reserves in various regions of Bolivia including Tarija, La Paz, and Beni. Green Hearts Project teaches environmental education to school-aged children who participate in planting trees. The project needs volunteers to help plant over 2 million trees over the next few years in various areas of Bolivia. Planting of these forest reserves will take the shape of enormous green hearts, visible from space.

INTI WARA YASSI is a Bolivian Non-Governmental Organisation staffed by people who come from around the world to volunteer in Bolivia. It is one of Bolivia's only refuges for abused wild animals. In October 2009 they were visited by Jane Goodall. In 2009 Inti Wara Yassi's Machia Animal Refuge in Villa Tunari was being destroyed for a road. AGUA:YAKU (formerly Simple Water Solutions) is an Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission (EFCCM) project based in Santa Cruz, Bolivia that teaches simple, inexpensive water well drilling techniques and other appropriate technologies that improve the health, welfare, and economic production of small farm families and communities in Bolivia. More than 40 percent of Bolivia’s population lacks access to proper sanitation, and 37 percent lacks drinkable water.
