Bolivia Hotel Review: Hotel El Salvador, Tarija, Bolivia

Hotel El Salvador Tarija. This hotel surprised us more than any other we visited in Tarija. It’s located near downtown but on a quiet street in a residential area, halfway between the central plaza and the bus station (terminal de buses). As the airport is near the bus station, the hotel is conveniently close to both. We found out about it because staff from another hotel recommended it to us!

This hotel is decorated in a classic style. It has a large lobby and reception area and a truly nice buffet dining room and bar. It has wireless internet access throughout and an additional internet station near the reception area. The receptionist was warm, friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a complete tour of the hotel. Every room is decorated differently and the quality of the furnishings and décor in each one are surprisingly luxurious and cozy. Each room has a private bath, cable TV and minibar. Each floor has pretty seating areas as well. You can also request fax service, private meeting rooms, laundry service, storage rooms, and there is a safety deposit box for your valuables. The hotel also has a well-equipped conference room for up to 50 people and a garage. Enjoy a buffet breakfast or traditional regional meals in the dining room.

The Prefecture of Tarija gives Hotel El Salvador 3 stars because it doesn’t have a pool but we think it’s lovely and deserves 4 stars.
