Bolivia yellow fever vaccination requirement for elderly

my father wants to visit but his doc tells him the yellow fever vaccination is not recommended for older people (he is over 70). Is there a way around this requirement for the elderly? The doc is saying the vaccination would be dangerous at his age.

Your father needs only bring a letter from his doctor stating that he recommends against it for health reasons and he will be able to show that to the officials at the airport. Don't worry about it.
