Bolivian Restaurant Review: Cafe Mokka Restaurant in Tarija Bolivia

Cafe Mokka is a restaurant in Tarija that serves international food. Located near one corner of Plazuela Sucre, it's a nice dinner option. Plazuela Sucre is the second most visited plaza in Tarija. Not a day goes by that you don't see tourists here. It's also crowded in the afternoons and evenings as it's the main plaza where teenagers like to hang out after school.
This is one of the many restaurants and cafes that can be found on all sides of this plaza. It serves Mexican food, Italian food, hamburgers and pizzas, plus an assortment of salads and sides. It has a full bar and also serves desserts and baked goods, coffees, teas and ice creams.
The restaurant has seating both indoors and outdoors on the sidewalk and is a nice place to observe life in Tarija. It is directly across the plaza from the Thai Kaffe and friends who are natives of Tarija tell us these two restaurants are owned by the same family. Which doesn't explain at all why we had such different experiences at each one. Cafe Mokka has older, more professional waitstaff and that may be one important difference. They were friendly and informed and very helpful. On the other hand, this restaurant pulls together a nice international menu very neatly without going overboard with variety. The balance is just right. For more places to eat and restaurants in Tarija click on the 'Food' link below.
