Hello. I’m a US citizen with permanent residency in Bolivia, although I no longer live there. My understanding was that if I left Bolivia for more than two complete years (which I did), I would lose my residency. I went to Bolivia on a tourist visa in 2022 after six years away, and when I arrived, I was told that I still had residency there. Is there any rule about being outside of Bolivia for a length of time and losing permanent residency? I was very confused.
