Do you need a work permit in Bolivia to be a tour leader?

Does anyone know if you would need a work permit as a tour leader in Bolivia and how to apply for one? You would not be applying for residency, just for the ability to work as a tour leader.

Ask the Ministry of Labor
by: Anonymous

Normally, if you are working in Bolivia and earning from that, you would need a work permit and to obtain a work permit you would need to become a resident. Non-residents are not supposed to be working. And any country you earn in would expect you to pay taxes. However, you might do well to go to the local office of the Ministry of Labor in whatever city you are in. That's the institution that issues work permits and they could give you an official answer to your question. In Spanish it's called the Ministerio de Trabajo.
