How do you get from Santa Cruz to Uyuni and Potosi?

Hola! I am going with my fiancée for the first time to Bolivia. We will fly into Santa Cruz (Viru viru) by 3rd of September and will stay there until the 9th of September. Our main goal is to visit Uyuni and Potosí, but we are having a hard time to figure out what is the best way to get there from Santa Cruz. Could you give us some advice?

Hi there! I would highly suggest flying to Sucre and then taking the bus to Potosi and/or Uyuni. The flight is quite inexpensive and gets you there in no time. We flew with Boa in april and it was about 100USD. I think TAM flies that route as well. Good luck!

Olá Marcos. Agora você pode voar diretamente para Uyuni na companhia aérea Amaszonas. Quando eu estava em La Paz no mês passado eu vi que tem vôos diretos. Eu não sei se Amaszonas tem vôos desde Santa Cruz. Você pode ter que voar para La Paz e depois para Uyuni. Mas você pode ver esta página e entre em contato com Amaszonas para perguntar. To Uyuni

The best and cheapest way is flying to Sucre (30 minutes) from Santa Cruz. In Sucre you will have many buses and transportation available to Potosi. Potosi also, once there look for "la Terminal" find a bus to Uyuni (6 hours by bus) and Salar de Uyuni.
Besides Uyuni, you would be visiting two wonderful cities like Sucre and Potosi.

I would fly to La Paz and then you have the choice of train, plane or bus. Look on www.kanootours.com to compare and contrast fares, times etc.
