Yes, Anonymous, that is correct. The person who posted this message asked specifically about the TOURIST visa so we responded to that.

But you are correct in that anyone arriving for anything other than tourism absolutely does need a visa. That applies to citizens of EVERY country, not just India, if you are not touring.

The visa required for NON-tourists is the VISA DE OBJETO DETERMINADO (specific purpose visa).

Indian Citizens can apply to Visa at arrival time and renew for similar periods till the maximum of 90 days.
But if the purpose of visit to Bolivia exeeds the concept of tourist, such as make some business activities or work, a visa is required.

I consulted with the "Cancillería" here in Santa Cruz and was told that if there is not a consulate in your country you can use any Bolivian consulate in any nearby country. www.embassiesabroad.com may be a good resource for that.

True, India is on the list of countries that does need a visa but can get it on arrival - at least that is what the Bolivian government's foreign affairs website states. www.rree.gob.bo

then on Visas a Bolivia,

According to the Bolivian Department of Foreign Affairs website, citizens of India DO need a tourist visa to enter Bolivia, but DO NOT need to get it in advance. They are given the visa upon arrival.

De acuerdo con el sitio web del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, los ciudadanos de India SÍ necesitan visa de turista para ingresar a Bolivia, pero NO necesitan tramitarlo previo a llegar ya que les dan la visa al momento de arribar.

por favor ayudenme me pueden decir como puede hacer una visa para ciudadano de la India para poder llegar hasta bolivia con visa de turista ya que en india no existe consulado donde pueda solicitar su visa pueden escribirme a mi correo zul_ma18@hotmail.com
