Jaime Escalante, the math teacher from La Paz, Bolivia who became known in the United States as The Best Teacher in America passed away a few days ago. If you've never watched the movie about Prof. Escalante Stand and Deliver it's time you did.

5 April 2011 Update: Jaime Escalante has been posthumously awarded by the Bolivian Senate and one of Bolivia's most famous artists, Susana Castillo, painted his portrait.

I was sad to hear about his death. Stand and Deliver is such a great movie. Its one of those movies that motivates you and that you want to watch over and over again. Its been one of my favorites for years and I highly recommend it.

Why not have a family movie night and watch this movie while eating some Bolivian food. In the movie there are two scenes where Escalante mentions specific Bolivian food. Can you find those scenes?
