Need a cheap apartment in Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Hello, I plan on travelling to Santa Cruz soon. What are the prices for a small apartment and how can someone go by renting one of these ahead of time. Or is it better to stay at a hotel first and then find an apartment while there? Thanks in advance!
