Origenes Espacio Cultural is a cultural event salon in Sucre, Bolivia that offers a folklore dinner show. It is located about six blocks from the central square
Plaza 25 de Mayo. This structure is used for events, meetings, conferences, shows, theater and dances, but twice a week it offers a dinner show featuring many of the traditional Bolivian dances, plus a theatrical rendition of Bolivia's colonial history. The show is very colorful and will give you the opportunity to see some of Bolivia's famously elaborate Carnaval and dance costumes, all while enjoying Bolivian music and food. You can choose just to attend the show, or you can pay for both dinner and the show.
Additionally, Origenes has what they call a "museum café" called the Café Mirador Origenes, where they display the actual costumes used in the show so you can admire them close-up as you sip some delicious Bolivian coffee. Their website www.origenesbolivianos.com has some beautiful photographs of the dances and costumes, with a brief description of the history and meaning of each dance. The café opens at 3:00 p.m. and the folklore dinner show begins at 8:30 p.m.
