Santa Cruz winter temperature

by PATRICK CARREAU

Hello everyone! I`m from Chicago, but lately my wife has to work to Santa Cruz city, I read that is a hot, tropical and humid place to live; however I wondering if I will need to buy a heater or buy a fireplace there for winter. I saw houses for sale on the web without central heater and air conditioner in the houses. Please we will very appreciate your advice or experience to survive winter. Thanks

Santa Cruz winter temperature
by: BoliviaBella

Santa Cruz is warm to hot (and pretty humid and tropical) during about 9 months of the year. It rains quite a bit and every once in a while it cools off when we get a "surazo" (cold winds that blow up from Argentina and the Patagonia that drop our temperatures very suddenly).

Our winter is roughly June-August. Temperatures begin to drop in early June and get to about 30 degrees on the coldest days. We do have days with wind and rain and during June and July it gets cold enough to wear coats and gloves. Being a moist region, the cold often feels colder than it really is. However, our winter is very short. You can read more about the climate in Bolivia here.
