True expat stories is what we were looking for when we asked numerous expats in Bolivia to share their experiences by means of a survey we sent out to expatriates throughout the country. We receive thousands of questions per year through our Bolivia Forums, private emails, and our company Bolivia Expat Services, from potential future expats who are researching Bolivia as a possible place to live, work or retire. After seven years of offering information to future Bolivia expats, we began to notice trends in the types of questions that a future expat in Bolivia might ask. Eventually, we prepared a 25-question survey based on some of the most trending questions we receive. We then asked foreigners currently living in Bolivia to volunteer their expat stories in a straightforward, honest way.
Our goal is to gather as many different perspectives about life in Bolivia as possible so that others (like you) who are contemplating living in Bolivia can benefit from the experience, lessons learned, and the wisdom gained by individuals and families who have already made the move to Bolivia. We know that the more input people have, the more informed their decisions and choices will be. We received responses from expats currently living in all areas of Bolivia, who originate from many different countries around the globe, and who have resided in Bolivia for varying lengths of time. In their responses you'll learn what they consider to be the good, bad, easy, difficult, challenging, and rewarding aspects of living in Bolivia... in their own voices. Some chose to share their identities and others have preferred to respond anonymously. Either way, you will benefit from their most honest, heart-felt and candid opinions.
